Albany Rural Cemetery

Menands, New York · Established 1841

Albany Rural Cemetery, incorporated in 1841, was one of the earliest rural cemeteries in the United States and served as a model for cemetery design throughout the country. The 467-acre grounds feature dramatic glacial landscape, winding paths, and an extraordinary collection of 19th and early 20th century funerary art. It contains the graves of two US Presidents and numerous New York governors.
