Elmwood Cemetery

Elmwood Cemetery, established in 1846, is the oldest non-governmental cemetery in Michigan and a National Historic Landmark. Its 86 acres of rolling terrain feature magnificent oaks and an exceptional collection of Victorian funerary art. The cemetery is the final resting place of many of Detroit's founding families, Civil War veterans, and African American community leaders.
