Mount Hope Cemetery, established in 1838, was the first municipal Victorian cemetery in the United States. Its 196 acres feature dramatic glacial terrain, Gothic and Romanesque revival architecture, and an outstanding collection of funerary sculpture. The cemetery is the final resting place of some of the most important figures in American social reform history.
