Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville was established in 1856 and is the largest cemetery in Tennessee, spanning 260 acres. The cemetery contains the graves of over 100,000 individuals, including Civil War dead from both sides of the conflict, Tennessee governors, and prominent Nashville citizens. A Confederate Circle on the grounds contains the graves of 1,500 Confederate soldiers.
